SAT subject tests were a hot commodity about a decade ago as they gave students who did well on them a leg up on the competition. Many colleges actually required students to submit their subject test scores with their application. However, that does not appear to be the case anymore according to this recent Boston Globe article. Several prominent New England colleges do not require applicants to take the subject matter tests. This could be a large shift in how college admissions look at test scores moving forward.
